The Blount Addition to Chelsea Place was a Phoenix neighborhood built in the 1920's. It was a relatively upscale part of what was then the North part of the city. Much of the original neighborhood surrounding the Blount Addition fell when the freeway was built through Phoenix. What's left is now part of the Roosevelt Historic District. Only the tax rolls show the original name.
These pictures show the house prior to extensive renovations in 1999-2000. It now looks vastly different, with refinished floors, cabinetry, walls and windows. The house was purchased and restored by a Phoenix couple who invested a great deal of time and paid careful attention to details.
We had the tremendous good fortune to drive past the house by chance while visiting Phoenix looking for a place to live. We liked the place instantly, and have been living in the house since.
